Mission Statement
Michigan 1 PAC is dedicated to supporting moderate, pragmatic candidates from all political parties who are committed to strengthening Michigan’s economy and addressing critical social issues. Our focus is on fostering policies that prioritize the well-being and prosperity of Michigan residents, promoting unity, and driving sustainable progress across the state. We believe in governance that transcends partisan divides, emphasizing collaboration and evidence-based solutions to tackle Michigan’s unique challenges, from revitalizing industrial hubs to ensuring equitable opportunities for all.
In a state known for its competitive political landscape, Michigan 1 PAC champions candidates who reflect the values of Michigan’s diverse electorate—urban and rural, industrial and agricultural. By supporting leaders who prioritize practical outcomes over ideological purity, we aim to bridge divides and deliver results that uplift communities statewide. Our mission draws inspiration from Michigan’s history of pragmatic governance, such as the state’s early adoption of Medicaid expansion in 2014 under bipartisan leadership, which provided healthcare access to thousands of low-income residents.
Our Vision
We envision a Michigan where economic opportunity thrives, communities are inclusive, and governance reflects the practical needs of its residents. By backing candidates who champion balanced, moderate policies, we aim to build a stronger, more resilient Michigan for all. This vision aligns with the state’s tradition of swing-state politics, where voters have historically rewarded candidates who appeal to both urban centers like Detroit and rural areas like the Upper Peninsula by addressing shared concerns like job creation and infrastructure.
Our vision includes a Michigan that leads in economic innovation while preserving its natural resources and cultural heritage. We support leaders who emulate the collaborative spirit of figures like former Governor Rick Snyder, who, despite controversy, worked across party lines to expand Medicaid, and current Senator Gary Peters, known for his focus on bipartisan issues like Great Lakes restoration and small business support. These examples highlight the potential for moderate leadership to deliver measurable progress, such as the $10 billion in infrastructure investments Michigan has secured since 2020 to improve roads, bridges, and broadband access.
